I'm always thinking ahead, which made me a decent student, helps me travel, and keeps me moving. But thinking ahead has its drawbacks. Most obviously, I don't always live in the moment. I have to remind myself to enjoy the moment for which I spent month planning. Take the time, smile at my children, tell them I am proud of them, glory in their achievements and struggles. I encourage you to do that today. Congratulate your child on a job well done in math class. They've all done incredibly good work this year, and before the summer tasks creep in and steal this time of reflection, take it. Grab this moment by the horns and relish in your child's growth this year. May we all slow the train of progress just enough to enjoy the ride.
