Does your study of latin help you understand math?
There are few things in the world as lovely as being in the presence of a latin student when they hear a new word. When I ask my latin students what a percent is, they immediately respond that it is part of a hundred. How did they know that? Because literally, that is what percent means: for a hundred. Using that knowledge and what we already know about money helps make percents, calculating percents, and working with percents a simple easy concept to grasp.
Join me as we look at how to apply this idea of 'for a hundred' to the world of math and the world around you.
