As this school year winds down toward the finish, it’s tempting to let go of our motivation and trade it in for the excitement of next year. Speaking for myself, and a lot of other homeschoolers, March tends to be the month where curriculum sales start and we’re ready to let this year end. But wait! We need to finish what we started. Our kids need us to show them what endurance is. A race doesn’t end twenty yards from the finish line.
There are plenty of ways to enjoy the end of the school year without wimping out in the last leg. One thing that I’ve found to be helpful is to get our end-of-year portfolio going. Not only is it giving you a good head start on a job that needs to be done, but it gives you a chance to see if there is anything you feel that you need to polish before next year.
We’re all excited to see the grass again and feel the sun, but it’s better enjoyed when our year ends strong.
Happy Spring!
