Why Triads?

Home­school moms are hard­core. We put a lot of pres­sure on our­selves to be every­thing for every­one. It’s why I often describe the home­school mom-life as “being drawn and quar­tered dai­ly”. The list of dai­ly, week­ly, and month­ly tasks is mon­u­men­tal. You’re read­ing with the first grad­er, edit­ing the high school­er’s paper, wash­ing dish­es, clean­ing the bath­room, and try­ing to sneak in time to bud­get and con­tin­ue your own edu­ca­tion in between. Because if you don’t fin­ish read­ing The Odyssey now,  your kid is going to call you out on it tomor­row. Thank­ful­ly, all math ques­tions are sent to Lori, where I glee­ful­ly ignore teach­ing my kids lab sci­ence so that I can teach your kids math!

So are math tri­ads from us here at Scio Acad­e­my anoth­er thing to add to your list? Believe me, we don’t want to add any­thing to your list. Rather, math tri­ads are here to help relieve your list a bit. Check­ing our child’s work in math­e­mat­ics is daunt­ing and dif­fi­cult, espe­cial­ly if we haven’t been in class with him to see what he’s learn­ing. Man­u­al­ly scan­ning pages upon pages of math home­work to send to Lori isn’t easy or fea­si­ble either. The math tri­ad is a mid­point solu­tion to these two problems.

At the end of each chap­ter, your child can com­plete a 3 ques­tion tri­ad, take a pic­ture of it, and send it to his tutor. You will then receive feed­back on the work and get a glimpse of how well your stu­dent is mas­ter­ing the mate­r­i­al.  This small slice of account­abil­i­ty is designed to help your child suc­cess­ful­ly dis­play what he’s been learn­ing as well as help you know that he’s on track. It’s sim­ple, it’s option­al, and like every­thing else at Scio Acad­e­my, it’s designed with you in mind. Your sac­ri­fices for your chil­dren and fam­i­ly are eter­nal rewards.
