These past few months have brought a lot of change. Our school has been disrupted and our plans have been thrown out the window.

As difficult as all of this has been, it has challenged us in both the good and the bad. Maybe we have slowed down and spent quality time with our children.

Maybe we have completed that eternal to-do list...

And maybe our idols have been forced to the surface.

Maybe we were so busy filling our time with busyness that we were never confronted with ourselves.

Maybe it has been too long since we’ve had to be around our families. All. Day.

Don’t waste your quarantine. Don’t come up with endless activities to ensure your children are never in silence, or feel boredom.

Don’t schedule 24 hours of online meetings to ensure you never feel discouragement, or are confronted with your sinful flesh.

Edith Schaeffer said “we foolish mortals sometimes live through years not realizing how short life is, and that TODAY is your life.”

Change is hard, but your life is now.

I pray we may praise God now, in this trial, and emerge victorious.
