The Editing Workshop : Outline
Mechanics :
- § 1: Spelling : learn how to improve and check the spelling of your paper by mastering some of these basic spelling rules
- § 2 : Sentences : learn how to check your sentences by ensuring the each sentence has 5 key components.
- § 3 : Punctuation : learn how to clarify your writing by utilizing end marks, commas, and quotation marks correctly.
- § 4 : Formatting : learn how to format your paper whether it's an essay, novel, or research paper.
Style:
- § 5 : Sentence Diversity 1 : learn how to engage your reader more by diversifying your sentences with openings and varying lengths.
- § 6 : Sentence Diversity 2 : learn how to further engage your reader by adding clauses and phrases.
- § 7 : Redundancy : learn how to reduce boring repetitions and use precise language.
- § 8 : Descriptive Words : learn how and when to use adjectives and adverbs.
- § 9 : Overused Words : learn how to reduce those too common words.
- § 10 : Strong Verbs : learn how to create excitement by replacing boring verbs with strong verbs.
