Today is the 5th Monday of the month.
These are the odd weeks. The shifting week. Starting with one month and ending with another, you never know quite which month you are supposed to act in. Which month’s goals do you focus on? Which month’s bills do you pay?
Balancing life often feels like being stuck in the 5th Monday week. I struggle to be present with my children, my husband, my community. I love to play with my kids, but the dishes scream louder. I want to sleep 9 - 5 every night, but the teenager wants to talk (don’t tell him I called him that). I have to cook, but I don’t have to be a chef.
Recently, I prioritized my life. That is to say, I made a list.
- God
- Husband
- Family
- My Scio peeps
- Friends
- House maintenance
- Projects or Hobbies
At this point, #1-5 are looking good. My house is apparently going to be perpetually dirty, and my hobby list is going with me to eternity. But, my kids will know the love of God, and my mission to help families educate will bring Glory to the Father. And that’s good.
